Three Things I’m Loving This Week

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! I took complete advantage of the warmer weather on the East Coast this weekend with some shopping and a trip to Boston for the afternoon.

It’s a short work week for me. My mom is coming to visit later in the week. We’re planning on spending a few days in NYC, CT and Boston. Should be a blast!

And now for the three things I’m loving this week…and by the way, Go Blue! I’m cheering on my beloved Michigan Wolverines tonight against Louisville in the NCAA Men’s National Championship game!

Authentic Original Sperry’s

Everyone should own a pair(s) of Sperry’s. I own a few pairs – but recently invested in the Authentic Originals. Cute, comfortable and will go with everything! $85 on Sperry’s website. (Slightly pricey, but completely worth it – trust me!)

Homage (t-shirts)

If you are lucky enough to live in Columbus, Ohio, you’re probably already familiar with the premier t-shirt, clothing and accessories line, Homage. These guys seriously have it all. Check them out. I love every Homage shirt I own – and between my husband and I, we own quite a few. Newest addition to my collection, the Big East Conference shirt. (Yes, I know Big East is going away – that’s a lot of the reason I wanted it). Check out their shirts, you won’t be disappointed. Trust me.

This is why I love sports. It’s things like this that make me love going to work every day. Quick word of advice. Grab a tissue. You’re going to need it. This is awesome.

Three Things I’m Loving This Week

Another crazy week was had by me! But, without further ado, the three things I’m loving this week. Trust me, they are good.

Steve Carell

Yes. Steve Carell. I’m so blessed to work at ESPN…I’ve had the amazing opportunity to meet so many amazing and talented athletes and celebs. But, I’ve longed for that athlete or celeb that really left me star-struck. This past week, that happened. Steve Carell stopped by ESPN in promotion of his new movie, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (which, btw, it’s pretty funny!) I was given literally a chance of a lifetime to interview one of my absolute all-time favorite actors. He was as kind as he was handsome and as hilarious as he was sweet.

My interview with Steve Carell for ESPN Front Row:

Hannah, (one of my good friends who helped with the interview too!), the amazing Steve Carell and myself (trying to contain my excitement and REALLY resisting the urge to just begin blurting out quotes from The Office)!

Tesori Boat Shoes

Grabbed these hot pink and royal blue bad boys during a recent mini-spring-shoe-shopping-spree at Nordstrom Rack. I don’t think it’s possible to have enough boat shoes – and I loved the fun color of these. Originally $60, marked down to $40 at Nordstrom Rack. BOOM.

I had the opportunity to volunteer for the 24th annual GLAAD Awards with a few friends from work. For more than 25 years, GLAAD has worked with news, entertainment and social media to bring culture-changing stories of LGBT people into millions of homes and workplaces every day. According to GLAAD, “What people see in the media has a huge impact and GLAAD ensures images of LGBT people and allies grow acceptance, understanding and build support for equality.”

Several of my absolute dearest friends are gay; so my volunteering at the event was for them, and of course in support and such an important organization.

This year’s awards honored Anderson Cooper (LOVE!). And it gets better, guess who introduced him and presented his award? Madonna! Check out the video of his acceptance speech. Good stuff – he said that being gay is a “blessing” and thanks his partner.

Speaking of Madonna, she dressed up as a Boy Scout in support of ending the ban on gay scouts and leaders. Way to go, Madonna!

A great night for a great organization with great friends!

Three things I’m loving this week

Happy Saturday, and Happy Groundhogs Day! According to Punxsutawney Phil’s weather report this morning, warmer days are ahead! You better be right, furball. I’m ready for the spring!

Here are a few things I’m loving this week.

$20  Sperry Boat Shoes (Yes, you read that right)

I grabbed these boat shoes at DSW last night. I have a pair of brown Sperrys that I love and wear all the time, but I’ve wanted a pair of the metallic gold ones for a while too, but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $85 for a pair I wouldn’t wear as much as the brown ones. But, fate stepped in last night. I went to DSW and there were the gold ones I’ve wanted for a long time, literally with a light from Heaven shining on them. Originally $80, marked at 50% off, plus I had $20 DSW cash I needed to spend before it expired. So sure enough, I got this pair for $20. I think it was just meant to be. Ha!

Jackie Harbaugh, Super Bowl XLVII Most Valuable Mom

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that this Sunday is the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is especially unique this year for Jackie Harbaugh, the mother of both head coaches playing in this year’s game. ESPN put this awesome spot together, which has been running all week. I love it.
